Each of our skinny neck ties are one-of-a-kind because they’re all handmade from a limited supply of fabric off-cuts that would have otherwise gone to waste. It’s pretty difficult to find off-cuts that are long enough to make a neck tie with which is why we have such a small number of neck ties in the exhibition.

Nonetheless, your purchase of a neck tie will help reduce waste and it will also pay for one week of schooling for a talented child on our scholarship program.

Material: 100% Cotton

Neck size: 35-50cm (13.7-19.7”)

Care instructions: Wipe clean or hand wash gently in cool water. Colours from African fabrics often run on first wash so take care to wash separately from whites.

Packaging: All our bow ties are packaged in boxes handmade from recycled paper. Let us know at checkout if you want to help us reduce waste by not receiving your bow tie in a box.

Zimbowties works with 8 tailors in Zimbabwe, who make bow ties in the most beautiful colors with cheerful prints. The tailors receive a fair price for making the bow ties. The bows are made from up-cycled residual material (mainly cotton and less than 5% nylon) from the clothing industry in Mutare, Zimbabwe. The tailors make the bows by hand and package them in material made from 90% recycled cardboard. Interesting: buyers can choose on the website not to get packaging with their items if they think they don't need it, to help you reduce your amount of waste! With every product sold, Zimbowties reimburses a week of schooling for a child. Not just like that, but with a "creativity grant" that stimulates creative thinking among the children.
