SixtyNinety is a fashion brand that was created with the aim of making swimwear that is completely sustainable but also looks good and fits well. To achieve this goal, SixtyNinety started working with the innovative Fluity CO2 material. This is a synthetic material that is 100% biodegradable. The material is Oekotex certified and is therefore free of harmful substances. This material is very suitable for swimming and will last a very long time. If it ends up in a landfill without oxygen, it starts to decompose, and after three years it will have completely disappeared. With the polyamide usually used it takes an average of 50 years. The substance is also completely vegan and SixtyNinety does not use dyes that contain animal products.
SixtyNinety also does its best to make the packaging material as sustainable as possible. They use packaging that is made from recycled plastic or that is biodegradable. SixtyNinety is also committed to fair trade. Their clothing is produced in a small factory in Brazil that is run by women. The women receive a fair wage and work under safe working conditions.
The new collection of SixtyNinety is made of 100% recycled PET bottles. To make this collection, approximately 12000 bottles have been recycled! The items are made in Portugal by a team of 8 women, who receive fair wages and work under good working conditions.
All items of SixtyNinety are made by women for women without compromising their love for people and the planet.
