The story of Tizz & Tonic reads like a movie; it was founded by two sisters who grew up in a glass studio in a small artists' village in Ontario, Canada. One went off to study fashion and the other biology with a focus on sustainability. They eventually moved to Germany where they founded their Tizz & Tonic brand; where they combine their talents and passion.
Locally produced: Except for the socks, Tizz & Tonic's items are made in their own studio in Bremen, Germany. The socks are made in a small factory in Bulgaria and the materials in a workshop in Turkey.
Eco-friendly: the factories in Bulgaria and Turkey are GOTS, GRS and OEKO-TEX certified. For their own studio, Tizz & Tonic offsets their carbon footprint.
In the majority of their designs, Tizz & Tonic uses micro modal, an extra fine form of Modal that is mainly produced in Europe and originates from a sustainably cultivated forest. In addition, they use materials like organic cotton, recycled polyamide and ROICA; one of the first 100% biodegradable stretch materials!
Lastly, the brand follows the principles of slow fashion and their products are made-to-order to prevent overproduction.
Fair production: the brand has its own studio in Bremen, where they supervise good and safe working conditions. In the factories in Bulgaria and Turkey, in addition to their own audits, there are also independent audits to ensure good and safe working conditions.
