chaYkra is a London based wellness wear brand founded by British Indian sisters, Priya & Divya. Their garments are ethically made in India from fair trade organic cotton and the designs are inspired by an East meets West fusion.

The brand name derives from the Sanskrit word for energy and the 7 chakras, energy centres in the body, are reflected in the letters of the brand name. The capital Y in the centre of the brand name stands for 'yoga' and 'you', reflecting how important it is to engage in wellness practices to balance & optimise your own energy flows. 

chaYkra works with a fair trade factory that uses GOTS certified organic cotton from the Chetna Organic cooperative. Chetna Organic works with more than 15,000 small farmers to develop and implement sustainable agriculture. The farmers receive a fair trade premium on top of the minimum price and can therefore sustain a livelihood and invest in valuable social projects within the community. The factory itself is both SA8000 and GOTS certified, so fair trade conditions are guaranteed.
