The Indian fashion label Reistor was born out of a realization that sustainability needs to be integrated into every aspect of fashion - from purchasing to sales - in an industry that is currently highly polluting. The label makes beautiful collections from natural materials and supports the environment and the local population where they can.

Fair trade: Reistor manufactures in multiple locations in India. One is a non-profit organization where Reistor has installed sewing machines. Women from marginalized communities can receive training here to learn how to sew and support themselves. In the other factories, the employees are paid fair wages.

Environmentally friendly: Reistor's clothing is made from 100% hemp. No pesticides are required to grow hemp. The fabric comes from an Oeko-Tex certified factory. The dyes are PCA-free and Bluesign, Oeko-Tex and ZDHC approved and therefore free of toxic and harmful substances that meet the sustainability requirements of these certifications. The cuffs are made from natural coconut fibre and the buttons from shells. The packaging material is made of natural corn fibre.

Vegan: Reistor's items are vegan.

Good cause: Reistor has had a Lifecycle Assessment audit performed by a third party called Greenstory. They are now compensating for their ecological footprint by financially supporting Greenfield reforestation projects.

Supporting the local population: Reistor has a partnership with the NGO Srujna, which helps women build sustainable, self-sufficient lives.
