The Lorena Villegas collection is made from residual materials from the fashion industry. These materials are upcycled into unique new items of clothing. The brand prefers to produce on-demand to prevent surpluses of clothing. A part of the collection is produced in Lisbon in a nice and fair trade workshop and the rest is made by Lorena herself in Amsterdam. The beadwork is made in Colombia by a family from the Inga community. They work from home, without high work pressure: Lorena thinks it is more important that the result is beautiful and refined than that it is done quickly. The packaging is made of recycled material and Lorena Villegas has consciously chosen to produce in Europe in order to keep the emissions as low as possible. The beadwork from Colombia is also only taken to the Netherlands by friends and family when they come to visit to minimize emissions.
